Year 5 & 6 Trips - 2024/25

This year in Year 5 and 6, we will be going on a range of school trips.

Natural History Museum

On 14th and 19th November, we will be visiting the Natural History Museum as part of our 'Survivors' topic. We will explore their 'Volcanoes and Earthquakes' gallery, as well as enjoying a workshop: Emergency! Volcanoes and Earthquakes. We will leave school at 9.15 and return by the end of the day, travelling by tube. Year 6 will visit on Thursday 14th November and Year 5 will visit on Tuesday 19th November.

Imperial War Museum

On 16th January, we will be visiting the Imperial War Museum to find out about life during the Second World War as part of our 'Heroism and Bravery' theme. We will leave school at 9.15 and return by the end of the day, travelling by tube.

Wimbledon Synagogue

As part of our RE unit, we will visit Wimbledon Synagogue on the following dates:

5M- Tuesday 25th February

5R- Tuesday 4th March

6M- Wednesday 12th March

6TW- Wednesday 26th February

On all days, will leave school at 9.15 and return at 12.45, travelling by bus.

Royal Observatory, Greenwich

During the summer term, we will visit the Royal Observatory to learn more about our solar system in our 'Is There Anybody Out There?' topic. The date and travel for this trip will be confirmed nearer the time.

On all trips, please ensure your child is suitably dressed for the weather (coat, waterproof jacket, hat etc.). You will need to provide a bottle of water for your child and children will also need a rucksack in order to carry a water bottle and their packed lunch. The children will be provided with a packed lunch made by our school caterers, unless chosen otherwise.

In order to cover the cost of these trips, we ask parents to contribute £9 per child through ParentPay. This can be done through instalments. If you would like to contribute more to the overall cost of the visit to ensure that every child can participate, we would be very grateful.

All parents have already provided permission for your child to attend all of this year’s trips, and provided a packed lunch choice. Please note that this will be your child’s packed lunch choice for all trips this academic year.

If you are able to help on any of these trips, please speak to your child's class teacher.

Many thanks,

Miss Waugh
